This position reports to the Sales Manager. The objective of the Senior Sales Engineer’s job
Sales Engineer must continue to serve the customer after the sale and during installation to insure satisfaction and to promote future business.
Sales Engineer must remain directly involved with all maintenance they have sold to assure pull through business.
Senior Sales Engineer must remain actively involved with all maintenance they have sold to assure pull though business.
The Sales Engineer must analyze customer objectives with respect to several alternate solutions using York A/C and refrigeration products, systems and service. The Sales Engineer must be completely aware of competitive products and system characteristics, including knowledge of local competitive pricing and must be able to apply economic considerations of first cost, operating cost, owning cost to projects on which he is working.
The highest priority for sales effort is calling on owners/end users and consulting engineers to direct and control project design and specifications toward both the customer’s and York’s best interest.
The Sales Engineer is required to make take-offs of plans and specifications; develop and price the estimate initiate the proposal and bid the job. He must constantly plan to create new business through organized prospecting and increase York’s share of business from assigned accounts.
The Sales Engineer is responsible for order entry and execution correctly through regional contracts administration. He must provide after-sale service including assisting with obtaining drawing approval, timely release for fabrication, credit and legal coordination, providing customer with timely shipping information, job site visits with customer, engineering coordination and occasional factory visits to help sell and execute specific products.
